This year, two certifications graced the PurePower® PW1000G engine family in just as many months.
The PW1900G engine that powers the Embraer E2-190 and E2-195 was certified by the Federal Aviation Administration in April 2017. The PurePower PW1900G engine provides 19,000 to 23,000 pounds of thrust, and provides double-digit reduction in fuel consumption while reducing noise and emissions. The PW1900G is the fourth engine in the PurePower family to achieve engine certification.
The PW1200G engine that powers the Mitsubishi Regional Jet, MRJ 70 and MRJ 90 was certified by the Federal Aviation Administration in May 2017. The PurePower PW1200G engine provides 15,000 to 17,000 pounds of thrust. Like its sister engine, it delivers a double-digit reduction in fuel consumption while reducing noise and emissions. The PW1200G is the fifth engine in the PurePower family that has been granted engine certification.
The engines for the A320neo (PW1100G-JM), the C Series (PW1500G) and MC-21 (PW1400G-JM) have already been awarded engine certification.
